Eileen has been a part of the 7News family for almost 12 years. Born and raised in Silver Spring, MD, Eileen grew up watching 7News and dreaming of one day being a part of the First Alert Weather team.
Eileen's passion for weather started at an early age. Her dad is in the roofing business, so weather plays a critical part in his work. Eileen found herself watching all the local forecasts and making her own. Her fascination for different weather patterns, storms, hurricanes, and overall impact the weather has on people's everyday lives drove her to pursue a career in broadcast meteorology. Eileen graduated from the Academy of the Holy Cross in 2005 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Salisbury University in 2009 with a double major in Earth and Atmospheric Science and Mass Media.
She landed her first on-air job right after college at WBOC in Salisbury, MD. After 2 years forecasting weather on the eastern shore, her dream of working in her hometown market came true when she was hired at 7News in December 2011. Eileen began producing the weather for legendary DC meteorologists, Bob Ryan and Doug Hill. Eileen has been a part of 7News in the mornings for the past 8 years. She takes great pride in her forecasts and helping people start their day off on the right foot with an accurate weather forecast to best plan the day.
Eileen is also one of the hosts for ABC7's local lifestyle show Good Morning Washington. The show highlights unique places and happenings in the DMV.
You can watch Eileen on 7News from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. weekday mornings and then on ABC7's Good Morning Washington at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. You can also hear Eileen's forecasts on WTOP radio weekday mornings and middays.
In her off time, Eileen enjoys spending time with her family and doing all the Maryland things -- like enjoying crab cakes and football! Eileen's favorite crab cakes are at Timbuktu in Hanover, MD. Her favorite crab soup is at Harris Crab House in Kent Island and the best steamed crabs come from the Wharf. As for football, Eileen is excited for the new era of football in DC and hopefully a winning season for the Washington Commanders!
Eileen lives in Montgomery county with her husband Derek, 2.5 year old son Charlie, and two Boston Terriers, Petey and Teddy.
