Whether it’s on Capitol Hill, at the White House or overseas, Scott Thuman has been bringing viewers fair, in-depth reporting on some of the world’s most critical news events.

Scott has been covering major national & international news for years, as the Emmy-award winning Chief Political Correspondent at the Sinclair Broadcast Group and as a weekly contributor to the national show, Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson.

His reports are seen daily on all Sinclair-owned local television news stations across the country as well as on the The National Desk.

From the trenches in Ukraine, to the deserts of Iraq–the bustling streets of Vietnam and the famous Red Square of Russia, Scott has filed reports from more than 2 dozen countries–anywhere a story needs to be told.

Over the years, his objective political coverage has earned him more than a dozen Emmy awards, as well as AP, Murrow, Telly honors and was an integral part of a group to receive the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.

When taking a break from work, Scott is usually found with a backpack, out tackling new adventures. He’s summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, explored the Amazon jungle, run with the bulls in Spain and recently spent 2 weeks trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp & higher, in Nepal.

An alumnus of Florida Southern College with a Communications degree and a minor in Spanish, Scott is also a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Citizens Academy. He began his television career working from 1995-2000 in Jacksonville, Florida before spending another 5 years in Orlando–eventually arriving in Washington D.C. in 2005.
