While clouds will thicken Friday evening and continue throughout the night, there is no need to worry about rain or snowfall affecting your outdoor plans. The temperature will settle around 30 degrees.
The first major winter storm of the year will move across the DMV from southwest to northeast beginning early Saturday morning.
Many will see light snow upon the onset because of sub-freezing temperatures, especially to the southwest. Washington, D.C. looks to miss out on snow with this system. However, northern Montgomery County and Loudoun County may see a few hours of snow, leading to an inch or two of wet, slushy snow that will melt throughout the day.
