Temperatures should remain above freezing inside of the Beltway, preventing freezing slick spots in the morning. However, temperatures outside the Beltway will hover around freezing, leading to the formation of black ice, and all drivers should use caution while on the roads overnight.

Clouds will decrease behind the storm system followed by breezy conditions, wind gusts may reach 30 mph.

Dry conditions and temperatures will be near average for this time of year in the 40s.

Heavy rain with the potential for flooding. Rainfall amounts could be between 1 to 2 inches, with isolated totals of more than 2 inches. No wintry weather expected with this storm.

LOOKING AHEAD:
A very active weather pattern has set up that will bring a parade of storm systems to the Lower 48. The latest updates from the Climate Prediction Center indicate above average precipitation, as well as colder than average conditions, as we head toward the end of January.
